Born 6 Jun 1897 son of Dr. Robert Ellis and Elizabeth Margaret (Williams) Lord of Penlan, Wynnstay Road, Colwyn Bay. Educated at Haileybury College 1911-14 and University of Manchester where he was a medical student. He was unmarried.

Wartime Service

Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 6 Jan 1915, he entered France with the Expeditionary Force in Jun 1915 and was promoted to Lieutenant in Jun 1916 and Captain in Dec 1916. He was wounded at Loos in Sep 1915, recovered in England and returned to France in Jun 1916. He was again invalided out in Aug, but returned to the firing line in Jan 1917 and was fatally injured at Ypres.
