Born on 15 Oct 1884 in Ryde, Isle of Wight son of Major Gen. Henry J. and Frances (Clarkson) Maclean. Educated at Haileybury College 1897-1902. He married Ruth Niblock Davison Maclean and they lived at "Hawthorns", 11 Sylvan Hill, Norwood, London.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 13 Dec 1915 and was killed in action.

Additional Information

Brother of Captain Ivan Clarkson MacLean MC DSO who was killed in action only five days earlier on 4 Apr 1918 in France and who is also commemorated on these memorials.
