Wartime Service

Enlisted in Hertford. Entered France 26 Jul 1915. Was involved in a successful and crucial attack on the North-West part of Thiepval still in German hands on 26th Sep but was injured and subsequently died of his wounds. Casualties included 2 officers and 110 men.
