Frederick Martin was born at Colliers End in 1881 and he and his parents, George and Margaret, were still living there in 1891. His father working as a general labourer. It is possible he is the Frederick James Martin living in Hammersmith in 1911, married to Emily and with a 3-year-old son and said to be born in Hertford, but not certain. Listed as a Carman Enlisted in Woolwich.

Wartime Service

Formerly 020788 R.A.O.C., but later transferred to the KOYLI with whom he was serving when he was killed in action.
