Born on 25 Jul 1877 and baptised on 24 Aug 1877 in Balcombe, Sussex son of the Rev. Richard Gawler Mead and Elizabeth Martha Mead. Educated at Haileybury College in 1891 and Christ’s College, Cambridge. Previously had served in South Africa 1900 with the 2nd C.M.R. Enlisted with the Canadian Infantry on 22 Jul 1915 in Edmonton, Alberta. Husband of Kate Mead and lived at Lake Saskatoon, Alberta as a farmer.
