Pre War

Norman Joseph Delany was born in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Joseph William and Charlotte Ellen Delany. They lived at the Corner of Warwick and Belmore Roads, Penshurst, New South Wales, where he worked as a Clerk.


His parents later lived at 88 The Avenue, Hurstville, New South Wales. 


Wartime Service

He enlisted on 24 August 1914 and served as a Corporal in the Field Artillery Brigade 1, Battery 2. 


He was later commissioned as Lieutenant with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade.  and  was mentioned in despatches in 1917.


He died of wounds on 19 September 1918, aged 24.
