Albert was born in Northchurch in Early 1892 to Joseph dell and Ellen (nee Howard). on the 1911 census he was boarding in Berkhamsted, his occupation a Compositor (Printer).

Wartime Service

Walter served with 3/5th Battalion training 1?5th Leics as private 4654 before transferring to 19th Manchesters.


He was killed inaction on 23 Apr 1917. As his remains were never recovered he commemorated on the Arras Memorial.

Additional Information

War Gratuity of £6 10s and arrears of 310 17s 10d paid. Brothers Walter Frederick served with 2nd Grenadiers and died 2 Oct 1914, Edwin Charles served with 4 Bedfords, was wounded in 1915 but survived the war.
