George Russell Money was born in Colorado USA in 1891 to Edgar George Money and Alice Margaret (nee Edmonstone).


He was educated at Aldenham School.  He became a Planter in Selangor, Malaya as his father was also involved in a Company which owned Rubber Plantations.

Wartime Service

George arrived in London on 3 Jan 1915 aboard ship from Singapore describing himself as a Volunteer from Federated Malay States.


He joined the Middlesex Regiment becoming 2nd Lieutenant and went overseas to France in 1916.


He died on 1 Jul 1916 and lies with others from his battalion who died that day in Gordon Dump Cemetery, Ovilliers, Somme.
