Born on 24 Apr 1884 in Abingdon, Berkshire son of Edward and Ethel Florence (Thomson) Morland later of Staverton House, Oxford.
Educated at Haileybury 1898-1903 and Oriel College, Oxford.
He became a tea planter in Ceylon, 1908-15.
Wartime Service
Battalion was mobilised for war on 22 Jul 1915 and was landed at Boulogne. He was killed in action at the Battle of Guillemont.
