Pre War

Galbraith Morten born in 1888, his Mother was Jessie Macpherson and Father John Garrett Morten, Solicitor. His only son was following his father’s profession by becoming an articled clerk.

Wartime Service

He enlisted as a private No. 1644 in 28th Battalion London Regiment. On being commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant he joined The King’s (Liverpool) Regiment. He is recorded as disembarking in France 26 Oct 1914.


He was killed in action with them in May 1915.
