Pre War

George Mouat Dundas-Mouat was born in 1876 in Stretford, Lancashire.


He married Jessie  Hughes in Hampstead in 1910. On the 1911 Census, he was living with his wife and baby daughter (under one month)  Elizabeth, with 3 servants and a maternity nurse at 52 Thames Street, Windsor, Berks. His gave his occupation as  Student at Law of the Inner Temple and Director of  Rubber and Tea Plantations.


He left London with his wife on 13 December 1912 on the P & O ship Morea bound for Singapore.  At the time of his death he was living at Little Kendals, Aldenham, Herts. His wife later lived at Regents Park. 

Wartime Service

He had been made a Captain in the 1st London Regiment in March 1909 which was a territorial force. 


When war broke out in August 1914 they were mobilised for war and  initially sent to Malta in September, later proceeding to France, landing at Le Havre on 11 March 1915.  George died on 9 or 10 May 1915. during the Battle of Aubers Ridge.

Probate was granted to Samual James Randle, Chief Accountant Attorney of the London and South Western BNK, With effects of £27,531 8s 4d. Pay owing of £70 6s 0d was granted to Samuel James Randle.
