Pre War

Born on 21 Sep 1861 in Ireland son of Charles George and Susanna Juliana Ricarda Napier later of the Acacias, Bury St. Edmunds. Educated at the United Services College 1875-80 and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Commissioned in 1882 formerly in the Cheshire Regiment and served in the South African War 1900-02. Lieutenant Colonel the Royal Irish Rifles in 1907 and Colonel in 1911. He married Mary Ada Napier of 13 Stanley Place, Chester.

Wartime Service

He was killed on the beach as one of the first men ashore during the landing at Sedd-ul-Bahron at Gallipoli.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
