Haileybury College Cloister Wall Memorial, Hertford Heath

Pre War

Born on 25 Mar 1879 and baptised on 5 May 1879 in Simla, India son of Walter Erskine and Charlotte Louisa Caroline Neale. Educated at Haileybury College 1892-94. Was living in Detroit, Michigan as a clerk when he enlisted in Canada. Having served three years in Northern Bengal Mounted Rifles and five years in the East Indian Railway Volunteers, he enlisted in Canada on 17 Jun 1916.

Wartime Service

Private 190385 Canadian Expeditionary Force 20th Bn. He later obtained a commission in the Grenadier Guards and died of wounds received in an enemy air raid.
