Born on 31 Dec 1891 in Abbotabad, India son of Lt. Colonel James Alexander Nelis I.M.S. and Anna (Thornhill) Nelis of Seaview Terrace, Donnybrook, Dublin. Educated at Haileybury College 1908-09 and Trinity College, Dublin. He was unmarried.
Wartime Service
Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 26 Sep 1914 and Lieutenant 19 Nov 1914. He embarked for the Dardanelles on 10 Jul 1915 and was killed in action there.
