Born on 7 Apr 1882 in Stoke Newington, Middlesex and baptised on 17 May 1882 in St Ann’s, Tottenham son of Rowland and Helen Annie (Barnett) Stagg later of 46 The Avenue, Beckenham, Kent. Educated at Haileybury College 1895-99.

Wartime Service

Formerly Private 1296 Honourable Artillery Company he entered France on 18 Sep 1914 and transferred to the Machine Gun Corps Private 104420 on 16 Mar 1917 and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. He was killed in action.

Additional Information

Brother of 2nd Lieutenant John Reginald Stagg who was killed in action on 17 Sep 1916 in France and is also commemorated on these memorials.
