Born on 4 Feb 1886 in Louth, Lincolnshire son of William Haddon and Elizabeth Vincent (Bartlett) Owen of Louth and was baptised on 11 Mar 1886 in Louth. Educated at Llandaff, Stancliffe Hall, and Haileybury College 1900-04. Partner in firm of Haddon Owen and Son, Solicitors, Louth. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 15 Oct 1904 and Lieutenant 8 May 1911 in 4th Bn. (Royal South Lincoln) Militia. He was Musketry Instructor. He left the Army in 1912 to become a solicitor. He was unmarried.

Wartime Service

On the outbreak of war, he rejoined his old regiment on 15 Aug 1914, entered France on 12 Nov 1914 attached to the South Wales Borderers and was killed in action near Festubert by a shot to the head while leading his men into the enemy trenches.
