Born in 1886 in the Bourne, Ware son of Charles and Maria (Ellis) Adams and was living in 3 Collett Road, Ware in 1911 and working as a maltster.


He married Annie Lake in 1912 in Ware and lived at 23 The Bourne.

Formerly 2454 in the Hertfordshire Regiment

Additional Information

Brother of Private Alfred Thomas Adams who was killed in action on 14 Apr 1917 and of Private Ernest William Adams who died of wounds on 23 Sep 1917 and who are also commemorated on these memorials.


The three brothers who died are also commemorated on their parents’ grave in Ware New Cemetery. Their inscription reads:
