Pre War

Born on 24 Mar 1880 in Hanbury’s Lodge, The Bourne, Ware, Hertfordshire son of Anthony and Ellen Adams later of 1 Musley Hill, Ware. He joined the Royal Navy and in 1901 he was stoker on the HMS Sappho in Cape Town, South Africa.

Wartime Service

He was serving on submarine E6 when she was mined in the North Sea off Harwich and sank.
