William Adams was born in Harrow and was resident in Bushey at the time he enlisted at Bedford as Private 31337 with the 3rd Battalion of the Bedfordshire Regiment. 


His pension record card shows he was married to Hannah Maria Adams (b 18/04/1890) and had a daughter (b 31/07/16) called Vera Beatrice. 

Wartime Service

He died at home on 2 March 1917 and was buried in Bushey churchyard. He is commemorated on the Bushey Memorial and at St Peter’s Church, Bushey Heath. His pension record states he died of Cerebro Spinal Fever commencing on active service.  

Additional Information

The pension paid to his widow was 18/9 per week from 10/09/17 and the address given for Hannah was 56 Clay Hill, Bushey, Herts.
