Born on 12 Feb 1885 in Honor Oak, London SE son of Albert John and Ada Louise (Knight) Aitkens.


Educated at Haileybury College 1899-1901 and became a stockbroker. He married Phyllis Kinder on 30 Nov 1912 in St Peters, Cranley Gardens, London and had a son. They lived in Great Amwell.

Wartime Service

Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 14 Oct 1914, entered France on 18 Mar 1915 and died in Wimereux Hospital of wounds received in action.

Additional Information

Brother of 2nd Lieutenant Cyril Arthur Charles Aitkens who was killed on 10 Jul 1916 at Mametz Wood, France.
