Pre War

He was born 1891in South Mimms, one of 10 children of William and Anna. He enlisted at Mill Hill, probably prior to 1911, as in the census for that year he is shown as being a Private in The Middlesex Regiment based at Bourdon Camp, Hampshire.

Wartime Service

Although records show he served with 1st Battalion, in all likelihood he went to France with 2nd Battalion and he was killed in action.

Additional Information

At the time of his death his parents were living at 1, Cecil Cottage South Mimms.
