Born on 24 Dec 1890 in Portsmouth son of Lt. Col. Sylvanus Roger Burnett and Mary Bishopp (Dorman). Educated at the United Services College 1906-08 and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 11 Oct 1911.

Wartime Service

Promoted to Lieutenant 1 Nov 1914. He entered France in Aug 1914 and was killed in action at the First Battle of Ypres.
