Born in 1898 in Weston to John and Fanny Anderson. 1911 Census: living with family at Mill Hill, Weston, Nr Stevenage, Herts, when he was a schoolboy.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Ampthill, Beds. Death presumed during the battle of Ancre Heights (13-18 November 1916). Action on the Somme was ceased after this battle when snow and thaw converted the ground into a quagmire.
