Born in London on 25 Dec 1885 in Cadogan Terrace, Chelsea, London to Baron Charles Robert Southwell and Alice (Monk) Dimsdale of Meesden Manor. Baptised in Holy Trinity Church, Chelsea on 23 Jan 1886.

Wartime Service

Entered the Navy List as Lieutenant on 30 Jun 1908. Based in Great Yarmouth. Killed when his submarine was torpedoed by German U-Boat UB-18 in the North Sea.
