Born on 13 Aug 1893 in Plumstead, Cape Town, South Africa son of Maj. Gen. Sir Hugh Whitchurch Perry, K.C.M.G., C.B., C.S.I. (Royal Army Ordnance Corps) of A.H.Q., Simla, India and of Lady Minna Grace (Druce) Perry. Educated at Haileybury College 1906-11 and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst.

Wartime Service

Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 4 Sep 1912 and promoted Lieutenant 14 Aug 1913. He was wounded during the German counter-attack at Neuve-Chapelle on 12 Mar 1915 and died of his wounds in No. 7 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne.

Mentioned in despatches (31 May 1915).
