Born on 9 Jan 1878 in Pavitt’s Yard, Hertford son of Abel and Ellen (Taylor) Petts, he married Sarah Emily Bulley on 5 Sep 1898 in All Saint’s Church, Hertford. They lived in Pegs Lane, Hertford in 1901 and in 36d Providence Court, Hertford in 1911 and had one child. He was a general labourer.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford formerly 20715, Bedfordshire Regiment and was killed in action.

Additional Information

Brother of Private William Henry (Harry) Petts who was killed in action on 17 May 1915 and is also commemorated on these memorials.
