Born 18th March 1899 son of James and Gwendolene Philpot, baptised on 7th May 1899 in Aldbury.


The 1901 census records Albert as aged 2 and living at Old Farm House, Stocks Road, Aldbury. In 1911 aged 12, at school living at Stocks Cottages, Aldbury.


Wartime Service

Enlisted in Watford initially No 51518 Suffolk Regt and later transferred to the South Staffs.
