Pre War

Born in 1894 in Stoke Newington, London son of William Charles and Carolina (Richardson) Baldry and living with his grandparents in Rye Park, Hoddesdon in 1911 as a plumber. In 1915 he was an engineer’s fitter’s mate and living in 8 Tennyson Road, Walthamstow.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 28 Jan 1916 at Stratford, London, entered France on 7 Aug 1916 and was wounded by a gun shot wound to the abdomen on 15 Sep 1916 at the Somme. He died of his wounds probably in a casualty clearing station in Dernancourt.
