Pre War

Born in 1870 in Hackney. He married Annie Elizabeth in 1902 and was living in 120 Duncombe Road, Bengeo, Hertford with 5 children in 1911. He was an advertising agent.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Holloway, London. Was serving with 2nd Cavalry Div when Germany launched Operation Michael on 21st March 1918, they were in the Somme area near Pozieres when he was killed.

Additional Information

CWGC shows that Charles was in the M.T (Mechanical) company yet his service number has the prefix T4 which denotes horse transport.
