Born on 25 Nov 1895 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire son of Francis Peter and Ada Taylor (later Mrs. Woods of Peartree Lane, Fulstow, North Thoresby, Lincolnshire.) Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1905-11 he then worked for a fishing company in Grimsby.
Wartime Service
Enlisted on 17 Sep 1914 at Grimsby, entered France on 9 Jan 1916 and was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme near La Boiselle. He was buried there but his grave was subsequently lost.
