Biography

The following text was transcribed from the The Edmundian (1814-1819) – The contemporary magazine of St Edmund’s College:

From Mr. A. W. Powell, we learn the news of the death of his son 2nd Lieut. Alban Wentworth Powell of the 8th Queen's who was killed in action on August 21st, at the age of 26. He had been a student here fur rather less than one year in 1905. He was spoken of as a very gallant boy, and faithful to his duties as a Catholic at all times; this combination is an earnest of true bravery; may he have his eternal reward.
