Born in 1889 in Caroline Court, Ware son of William and Emma Presland and was living at 17 Coronation Road, Ware in 1911. He was a malt maker and was unmarried.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Hertford on 5 Sep 1914 and entered France on 6 Nov 1914.
He returned to England ill on the Hospital Ship St Patrick on 4 Sep 1915 from Boulogne. He returned to France via Southampton and Rouen on 6 May 1916, was attached to the 8th Gloucesters and was killed with them in action in France.
