Pre War

Born on 11 Apr 1872 in Thorley, Hertfordshire son of Mary Ann Petts later of 18 Mount Street, Great Amwell, Ware.


He married Eliza Smith in 1895 in Ware and they were living in Mount Street, Great Amwell, Ware in 1901. They had six children. He sailed with all his family for Canada on the Royal Edward from Avonmouth to Quebec arriving on 3 Jul 1912 and lived at 351 Hartford Avenue, West Kildonan, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada as a farmer.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 28 Jan 1916 at Winnipeg, Canada and survived WW1 but subsequently died in Winnipeg of asthma.
