Pre War

Born in 1894 in Ware, Hertfordshire son of John Reeves Taylor and Esther Taylor and was living at the Colonial Stores, High Street, Ware where his father was the proprietor. They all moved to Australia to King William Street, Bayswater, Western Australia. He was a shoeing smith having been an apprentice to G. Wells, High Street, Ware for four years and was unmarried.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 29 Mar 1916 in Perth, Australia, embarked at Freemantle on the Clan MacGillivray on 18 Sep 1916 arriving at Plymouth on 2 Nov 1916. He entered France on 18 Dec 1916 on the SS Golden Eagle from Folkestone. He went missing on 16 Apr 1917 and a court of enquiry ruled that he had been killed in action at Monchey.
