Royal Masonic School Memorial, Rickmansworth

Pre War

Born on 27 Jan 1890 in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire son of Thomas and M. H. Rees later of Trehyfryd, Wexham, Slough, Buckinghamshire. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1899-1905 and played rugby for London Welsh afterwards. He was training as a furrier in Germany before WW1.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in Sep 1914 in the Public Schools Battalion and obtained a commission in the Welsh Regiment where he acted as Intelligence Officer. He entered France on 2 Dec 1915 and was killed in action in Mametz Wood on the Somme.
