Before the outbreak of the great war Horace served as a policeman in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.

Wartime Service

He was severely wounded by a bomb dropped from an aircraft on the 9th January 1918, and underwent four operations to remove nine pieces of shrapnel, but finally succumbed to his injuries on 20th January 1918.

Additional Information

The brother of Henry John Blows who was killed in action on 21 November 1917 aged 20.
