Royston Town War Memorial

Ernest was the husband of Rachel Mary Blunt, of "Westbrook," Royston, Hertfordshire. He had worked for the Post Office as a Sorting Clerk since 1899.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in April 1915 and was posted to the Dardanelles on the 21st August of that year. He suffered a bout of Dysentery in October 1915 and was eventually evacuated to Malta suffering from Typhoid Fever. He died in the Military Hospital in Malta and is buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery.
