Wartime Service

Enlisted in Hertford, initially into the Hertfordshire Yeomanry. Served in Egypt and Gallipoli. Killed in action.

Mother Eliza awarded war gratuity of £4. Some documents list Joseph as being in the Household Cavalry & Cavalry of the Line.
