Pre War

Son of John and Alice (nee WILKINS) BRASIER of Watford.

His parents married 20 August 1881 at St Barnabas’, Homerton, London.  John died 1921 in Watford aged 69, and was buried 6 December in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Alice died 1935 in Watford aged 70, and was buried 7 May, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.

Charles was born 30 October 1900 in Richmond, Surrey.  He attended Whitehorse Road Junior School, Croydon, Surrey, from 23 September 1907; then Whitehorse Manor Road Boys’ School, Croydon, from 1 February 1910 to 8 July 1913.

On the 1901 Census, aged 5 months he lived in Richmond, with his parents and three siblings.  On the 1911 Census, at school aged 10, he lived in Croydon, with his parents and two siblings.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in London 12 August 1918: a motor fitter, 5’10” tall, C of E, his next-of-kin his mother of Watford.  He was entitled to the British War medal.
