Born on 23 Jun 1878 in Walden House, Tufnell Park, London and baptised on 11 Sep 1878 son of Bentley James and Sarah Phyllis (Zambra) Bridgewater. Educated at Haileybury College 1892-95. He married Kathleen Frances Hovil in 1904 in Dublin and lived in "Montague", Hankham, Pevensey, Sussex and had two children.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 11 Dec 1914. He was killed in action in a cavalry charge at Villers-Guislain.
