Pre War

Born in 1887 in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex son of John and Lucy Brooks and was living in the High Street working as a butcher’s boy in 1901. He was living as a cab driver in 20 Rumbold Road, Rye Park in 1911.


He married Mary Ann Brooks and later lived in 3 Council Houses, Nazeing, Essex.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford and was killed in action during the Battle of Polygon Wood near Ypres.
