Born on 6 May 1898 in Harold Wood, Essex son of H. B. and Edith Ellen Roper of 33 Lulworth Road, Birkdale, Lancashire. Educated at Haileybury College 1911-16.

Wartime Service

Formerly Private 245268 Liverpool Regiment, he obtained his commission in R.G.A on 15 Sep 1917 and died of wounds only seven days after arriving at the front.
