Born on 20 May 1875 and baptised on 24 Jun 1875 in Chichester, Sussex son of Dr. Leonard and Mary Augusta Buckell of Chichester, Sussex. Educated at Haileybury College 1889-92, he became an architect (A.R.I.B.A.) and lived in Seaton House, Weybridge, Surrey.
