Pre War

Harry was born in 1872 in Bishop's Stortford to George and Ann Bull. In 1881 he was living at the Royal Oak Beer House, Bishop's Stortford with his widowed mother who was the Beer House Keeper. His deceased father had previously been a beer seller. By 1891 they had moved to Buckhurst Hill, Essex. He married Elizabeth Blanks on  2 June 1895 at St Thomas, West Ham, Essex. On the 1911 Census Henry and Elizabeth were living at Albert Road, Buckhurst Hill where Henry was working as a labourer. Unfortunately, all their 6 children had died.

Wartime Service

He enlisted at Warley in Essex and served in the Essex Regiment.  He died of broncho pneumonia at No. 37 Casualty Clearing Station, France which was situated at Avesnes, near Arras, in April 1917.
