Norman was the son of Andrew & Elizabeth Russell, of Hope Cottage, Stockens Green, Knebworth.

Wartime Service

He arrived in France on the 14th February 1915, serving with the 1st Battalion. His Regimental Record states that he was wounded in action on the 31st May 1915 and died two days later from the effects of his injuries. The Unit War Diary records him as being wounded on the 1st June 1915 at Elzenwalle, Belgium.
