Biography

The following text was transcribed from the The Edmundian (1814-1819) – The contemporary magazine of St Edmund’s College:

Oswald Rutt must he among the youngest of those splendid brothers of ours who have died under the flag. Last summer we could hardly believe that it was he 'whom we saw kharki-clad(sic), stepping it out with the best at Dover. But he it was. And now we hear that this little brother has been killed by a shell, on the 8th of May. Further details have not reached us. His relatives are assured of our sympathy and prayers.
