Pre War

Born in 1894 in St Albans and eldest son of Thomas and Edith Sansom, and lived in Redbourn, Herts.

He married Isabel Statham of 6, Ringstead Rd., Catford, London in 1917.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in London in Sep 1914 and died of wounds.

Volunteering in September 1914, he was sent to France later in the same year and took part in heavy fighting during the Battles of the Somme, Arras, Ypres and many other important engagements. He was killed in action in 1917, and was entitled to the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. Ver House, 23 High Street, Redbourn. 4487/A
