Born on 10 Aug 1896 in West Hampstead, London son of Fitzroy and Edith Frances Courtney (Williams) Sapte of 21 Crediton Hill, Kilburn, London. Educated at Haileybury College 1910-13.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 16 Oct 1914. Killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme with around 20,000 other British soldiers.
