Pre War

Born on 23 May 1885 and baptised on 18 Jul 1885 at Ootacamund, Madras, India son of Lorne Augustus Campbell (I.C.S.) and Cecilia L. Campbell. Educated at Haileybury College 1899-1903. He later lived at 8 St James’s Square, London and then in Perrak, Malaysia.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 29 Apr 1917. Drowned while sailing from Liverpool on the Hirano Maru, a Japanese liner, which was torpedoed by UB 91 and sunk off the Irish coast with the loss of about 300 lives.
