Born in 1893 in Ware son of John and Charlotte Louisa Campkin (nee Hulls) later of 19 Kibes Lane, Ware and was living in 8 Blue Coat Yard, Ware in 1891 and was living with his parents in the Sluice House, King’s Weir, Wormley in 1911 and working as a farm labourer.

Enlisted at Hertford.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford formerly 5218 Private and was killed in action during the second Battle of the Somme.

Additional Information

Brother of Private Albert Joseph Campkin who died of wounds on 18 Aug 1918 and of Private Alfred Campkin who was killed in action on 12 Oct 1917.
